Radhe Shyam – Is this India’s version of Disney fantasy love tale?

This is Srinivasan’s #OneManView on ‘Radhe Shyam’ by Radha Krishnakumar.

This is my take on “Radhe Shyam” by Radha Krishnakumar starring Prabhas and Pooja Hedge in lead roles. First of all, this is one of the most beautiful movies ever been made. I really loved the way the director penned the story. Prabhas acting was good in the movie. Pooja Hegde, she’s is such a “Butta Bomma.” I loved each and every one of her scenes. She is gorgeous, divine full, and lovely throughout the movie. I really loved her performance in this movie. Manoj Paramhamsa’s camera did wonder in every frame of the movie. Stunning shots throughout the movie. VFX was good in many portions of the film, but it felt more artificial in some frames. I felt some overly fantasized scenes, especially in the climax and when Vikram was reading Prerana’s hand. But, VFX is a job well done.

Justin Prabhakaran’s songs were good, but Thaman’s music is the soul of this movie. I can minimally understand Telugu, and there were no subs in the theatre where I watched the movie. But Thaman’s music gave me the experience of what the scene is trying to convey. Thaman, you are a person who is minimally used in Tamil cinema. I hope many directors opt you to compose the music for them. Am really expecting the soundtrack of the movie to be released soon. The final credits background score, adipolli. Lots of positives were in the film. Though the story is predictable, it kept me engaged in the way of its narration.

The art department deserves a special mention. Every frame and its contents were beautiful. It had some negatives, like a bit stretchy second half, some dramatic scenes with doctors and scientists, and some poor VFX here and there. But when you total it all, It’s more like a Disney fantasy love tale of India.
