OnePlus Band is now official – All you need to know

OnePlus has released its first smart-wearable in the country – The OnePlus Band to compete against the likes of Xiaomi Smart Band 5. The fitness band with SpO2 sensor starts at INR 2,499 and comes in three different colors. Here is all you need to know about OnePlus Band. 

Display and Design 

The OnePlus Band features a 1.1-inch color AMOLED display with 100% coverage of P3 color gamut. Looks like OnePlus has borrowed its design from its parent company Oppo, which offers smart band with similar design, though the latter is not in sale in India. The smart band out of the box comes in black color, but the straps at different colors are sold separately for INR 399. The smart band does not have any buttons and can be operated only thorough touch. The smart band offers 37 watch faces which can be tweaked later.

Health Tracking 

OnePlus band has an array of sensors to help with fitness tracking. It’s the only fitness band as of now to sport a SpO2 sensor to track your blood oxygen, a most sought-after feature during the pandemic. Apart from that, it comes with a heart rate sensor, a 3-axis gyroscope, a accelerometer to help with fitness tracking. It officially supports 13 fitness tracking modes which includes Yoga and Cricket. It is also IP68 certified water resistant meaning you can wear your smartwatch during your next swimming session.

Apart from that, OnePlus band can offer sleep tracking and allows you to set goals to improve your sleeping habits through its included health app “One Plus Health”. The smart band connects to your smartphone using Bluetooth 5.0 LE and can deliver call, message notifications and offer music control. The official android application is now out, but iOS users have to wait a little longer. 

The smart band can offer up to 14 days of battery life and charge up to 50% in 30 minutes.

In short, at the same price OnePlus band offers similar set of features as Xiaomi Smart Band 5 with an extra SpO2 sensor. If you are looking an entry level smart device to enter into the world of smart wearables, then this is the right fit for you. OnePlus band goes on sale on Amazon and OnePlus store starting January 13, Red Ribbon Club members can access it earlier starting from January 12, 9AM IST. 

You can get an Redmi Smart Band 5 now for INR 2,499 or Honor Smart Band 5 at INR 2,099. If you are looking for something at a lower price, realme band offers similar set of features at a much lower price of INR 1,699
