“So no one told you life was gonna be this way…” – Well, we all knew that already, but still this particular theme song will always remind us of happier times, a hope and wish that at the end, things might turn realistically magical. F.R.I.E.N.D.S was a series that wasn’t hailed much or achieved cult status right at its advent, but yeah, it really grew upon people.
F.R.I.E.N.D.S is not just a sitcom, but an emotion for many.
FRIENDS – the TV show that was telecast between 1994 and 2004 is still the most favorite show for generations. Unbound by time, the show manages to entertain people of all ages. It’s just that the crux of the show is about life, that never goes out of style. if you really think about it, it’s so hard to catch a sense of reality in television shows and the fact that it effortlessly seems so played a main role in catapulting it’s name and fame.

With us FRIENDS fanatics being crazy about the show, little did we know that show’s brilliance still gets $1 billion each year for the Warner Brothers. Our Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc – still earn $20 million each year. We don’t need euphemisms to impress upon the joy it brought down upon us, more so when the news of the reunion episode dropped.
“After 17 years…” – well this one shot made us all imitate Rachel; “Rachel always cries”, yeah, but still you cannot lie to me – am sure it would have made even the “Chandlers” among us tear up, if you know what I mean (well, please don’t “We always know what you mean, Joey” me okay?). The reunion episode which aired on May 27th this year brought back oh-so-many memories, with the reality crashing down upon us that this might as well be the last “new” installment from the gang.
Not to mention the many guest stars who graced the occasion – so if you want the entire list, here it is: Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga, David Beckham, Mindy Kaling, the BTS, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Lady Gaga, Larry Hankin, Thomas Lennon, Christina Pickles, Tom Selleck, James Michael Tyler, Maggie Wheeler, Reese Witherspoon, Malala Yousafzai. While the FRIENDS guest stars returned to pitch in and reminisce their days, the other celebrities popped in to share how much they love this vintage American situational comedy sitcom.
However, the fact is that for fans who are crazy about the show, it remains so because it connects to them on a whole deeper personal level. The underlying truth is that we have all been Joey Tribbiani when it comes to food, Phoebe Buffay when it comes to singing fearlessly (when alone probably), Monica Geller when it comes to obsessing (“I know!!!!”), Ross Geller when we talk about something we are passionate about, Rachel Greene when we get emotional (don’t say “Nooooo” now), Chandler Bing when it comes to being “hopeless and awkward and desperate for love”, and finally Janice when we deal with a tough situation – “Oh. My. Gawd…”, right?
